it’s WQAQ’er Travis Hughes. The co-host of The Field of Play (and contributor to Teeing It Up) is also one of the premier Philadelphia Flyers bloggers out there. He is extremely lucky in that he is a media member for the Winter Classic, and got to go on the ice yesterday at Fenway Park to test it out and have some fun with it.
My old pal and current NPR summer intern Scott Kanofsky hosted a radio show and wrote an article about former New York Rangers goaltender Mike Richter. In the article, however, Scott looks a different angle of Richter. He writes in part:
As a partner at ECP, Richter looks for opportunities to invest in up-and-coming green businesses. He also serves as a board member at two environmental advocacy nonprofits. But Richter the businessman has not forgotten the lessons he learned between the pipes. The discipline, teamwork and composure he developed as a professional athlete have been invaluable tools in the high-pressured New York boardrooms of his new career.

I love when I have the opportunity to give a shoutout to my fellow bloggers and I am honored that this time it is also one of my Quinnipiac colleagues.
Travis Hughes of the Philadelphia Flyers’ blog Broad Street Hockey had the honor and privileged of going to the NHL Draft in Montreal as a credentialed member of the media. He got to take in all the sights and sounds and interview dignitaries all during the draft.
