UPDATE: From TigerWoods.com:
“He had tightness in the left Achilles warming up and it got progressively worse as the round went on,” said his office in a prepared statement.
“After hitting my tee shot on 12, I felt it was necessary to withdraw,” Woods said. “In the past, I would have continued to play, but this time I decided to do what I thought was necessary.”
Tiger immediately sent regrets to the WGC, Cadillac and the fans for their support.
“I’ll get my Achilles evaluated sometime early next week,” he said.
Tiger is next scheduled to play the Tavistock Cup and the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, both of which are in two weeks.
ORIGINAL POST: Tiger Woods withdrew from the final around of the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral Sunday with a “left leg injury” after 11 holes. What the injury exactly is or when he hurt it is unknown at this time.
Tiger was seen limping on the 10th hole and had changed his shoes at the turn.
Needless to say lets hope this is not serious because golf is on an amazing run up to Augusta and this could ruin it all if it is a serious injury to Tiger.
More when more is known.
