UPDATE: So it now appears that Jerricho was the one who wanted out. Well that changes the whole story. Still, thanks for the memories, J-Co.
I’ll have more to say soon on my thoughts on all the Jets free agency moves but I had to make a post here about them cutting one of my favorite players, and my jersey, WR Jerricho Cotchery.
The Jets released Cotchery today, instead going to Derrick Mason as their third WR choice. Cotch was a gamer, always team-first, always reliable.
But a back injury last season has had him hobbled into this coming season and his $4 million cap hit wasn’t sporty either.
So off he goes into the sunset, about to join someone else. But I thank you Jerricho, for seven great years as a member of the New York Jets.
