A fantastic finish to The Players starts off this week’s What It Means:
1) Congrats to K.J. Choi on the victory. One of the nicest, steadiest guys on the whole PGA Tour, Choi came up big when it mattered. He birdied the famed 17th in regulation, made a great short putt on 18 for an up-and-down-par and then ultimately made a short par putt on 17 in the playoff to lock up the victory.
What impressed me most was how he bounced back from missing two short birdie putts on 15 and 16 that could have possibly swung the proceedings his way in regulation. He didn’t get down on himself, or get mad…just stayed steady and converted the positive momentum he had been playing with all day into the biggest victory of his career.
