According to ESPN.com, Vernon Gholston, the Jets’ first round pick in last spring’s draft, the 6th overall, has finally signed. The deal could apparently max out at $50 million if he reaches his performance clauses.
He will be on the field today, as the Jets continue their retooling. This article in today’s New York Times speaks to how the quarterback race is just beginning between Clemens and Pennington. Apparently Chad has put some more zip on his throws in the off season. Sorry, but I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m still torn on who I want to be the QB of my team, but I’ll address that at a later time as training camp rolls on.
