UPDATE: Woody has been informed of his cut: “”Just informed about my release….I want to thank the Jets and all the fans out there…it was a great ride!” Woody tweeted.” As I say before, hopefully he gets re-signed after all the dusts settles.
It’s cut season in the NFL, with teams making some roster moves before the league year ends at March 3. The Jets are no different.
The New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta is reporting that the Jets will all cut Kris Jenkins, Damien Woody, Jason Taylor and Vernon Gholston. He also tweets that “There’s a possibility Jets may re-sign Jenkins, Gholston, Woody and/or Taylor to reduced salaries after they are cut, per sources.”
I’m fine with every single one of those cuts except for Woody. He’s the heart and soul of that offensive line and it can be argued that the line has helped the Jets in the last two years more than anyone.
I sure hope they get him resigned.
