Martin Kaymer finished 21st today at the Andalucia Masters in Spain, and as a result Lee Westwood is now the #1 golfer in the world. He overtakes Tiger Woods, who has held it for 281 weeks.
Tiger, Phil Mickelson, Kaymer and Westwood are all playing this week at the HSBC Champions event in Shanghai. All four of them will have a scenarios to keep or take over the #1 ranking. It’s gonna be a great week.
I’ll remind everyone about this later in the week, but the TV coverage times are as follows:
Wednesday (remember, time difference means this starts Wednesday night)/Thursday Morning: Midnight-4am ET, Live, Golf Channel
Thursday Night/Friday Morning: Midnight-4am ET, Live, Golf Channel
Friday Night/Saturday Morning: 11pm-4am ET, Live, Golf Channel
Saturday Night/Sunday Morning: 11pm-4am ET, Live, Golf Channel
The final round coverage is a little misleading because as the timezones go west daylight savings time expires, so in a way that coverage is an hour bloated. Kind of hard to explain but with the DST expiring, the tournament will be over by the NEW 3am ET, which is the OLD 4am ET.
I hope that makes sense.
