Here we are, the first PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs event, The Barclays. Let’s try to put this into easy terms: 4 weeks, where the points are quintupled or more from the regular season, and anyone really can win this thing. Top 100 in the standings move onto next week, 70 the next week, and 30 to the Tour Championship. Anyone in the field in the Tour Championship has a shot to win the cup, and the top 5 in the standings control their own destiny — win and they win the whole deal. Got it?
This week we’re at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, which a lot of the players don’t like, some saying it’s the worst course they’ve ever seen, and I’ve been told some caddies think something like -6 or -8 could win. Yikes. Tiger called it “interesting.” When asked if it was good or bad, he just said “interesting.” I don’t see him playing here again.
