QU Hockey Moves Up

January 14, 2008

Kudos to Quinnipiac Men’s Hockey, as the aforementioned Bobcats moved up to 14th in the new USCHO.com poll released today. The Rand Pecknold-led team is now 8-0-1 in its last 9 games and heading into 20 days of out of conference play, facing Holy Cross and Niagara twice in that time.

However, Pecknold told WQUN’s Don Boyle that his team can’t afford to take these games off. “You never get a break if you want to go to the NCAA Tournament,” Pecknold said. “They’re not league games, but they still count. Last year, losing two up in Niagara probably cost us the NCAA Tournament.”

As always, stay with this blog and the WQAQ Sports Site for the latest on the now #14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Men’s Hockey team.
